DEAR ALL,
When ever we visit restaurants, we generally order more than our appetite. Some times we can not consume the dish fully. we generally feel shy to ask the waiter to get it packed because of the liitle quantity left over there. we think It is of no use us.
Now I am going to illustrate an example
If a hotel serves 50 customers a day during week days and 100 customers on weekends, and 20% customers left over a 50 gms of quality food and this happens to be 500gms in week days and 1000 gms on weekends.
During weekdays with 500 gms of quality food one poor person's/begger's/Road side children's stomuch can be filled for at least one time. During weekends the no will be doubled.
There is no mechanism in our cities to utilise the food wastage. I have enquired with some hotel waiters , the feed back is if good quantity and qulity item was left over the hotel staff will collect it and eat that. Other wise the left overs will go the wastage and even dogs and cows can not eat that.It will be of no use to any living thing on the world.
After seeing the above , I got an idea to make use of these left overs.
LET US FORM AS INFORMAL GROUP OF 5 or 6 PERSONS.
OUR FIRST STEP IS TO EDUCATE OUR FRIENDS TO GET THE LEFT OVERS PACKED AND TO BE DONATED TO THE NEEDY BEGGERS AT THE TRAFFIC SIGNALS,RAILWAY STATIONS,and Opp the Hotels/Restaurants.
I have some more ideas to set up a social service organisation which will provide a permanent solution to utilise this food wastage at a large scale.
I welcome your suggestions too.......
